New Frigate on display in Oslo
I've worked on the software for the Royal Norwegian Navy's New Frigates, so when the first boat came to Norway for the first time, and they had opened the boat to visitors, I went to Oslo to take a look at KNM Fridtjof Nansen in all its glory... well... nearly all its glory. I really wanted to see the OPS room where they had all the consoles and software I helped develop, but that room wasn't open to the public. It didn't help if I flashed my fancy project t-shirt from when I worked on that project, or gave the officer my old business card. Lets hope I get the opportunity to see them some other time.
Even though this ship is brand new, I was disappointed to see rust on it already (photo #3). One of the old frigates, KNM Narvik, was also in Oslo, though not open to the public, but there are a couple of photos of her too, for comparison. You could always see some more detailed photos in my other album of when I took the sister ship, KNM Trondheim, out for a spin.
